The Norwegian partners submitted National NorNANoREG project proposal for the call for ‘Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (NANO2021) Theme 5 - knowledge of the different effects of nanomaterials on human health and ecosystems’ and applied for part of missing funding with great support of Project coordinator and management team, WP leaders and National coordinators. The consortium thanks to all who supported this application especially to Tom van Teunenbroek, Steffi Friedricks, Karl Hoehener, Keld Alstrup Jensen, Blanca Suarez, Albert Duschl, Victor Puntes, Iseult Lynch, Mikael Riediker, Lang Tran, Claus Swendsen, professor Tore Sanner, Norwegian Nanotechnology company nTEC and RactiveMetalParticles and to all National coordinators from Switzerland, Germany, UK, Ireland, Finland, Portugal, Austria and others.

The Norwegian NANoREG partners informed Norwegian Research Council about the NANoREG project, about its research goals and an importance to understand the potential environmental as well as human health and safety risks of nanomaterial use and production for the good governance and regulation of nanomaterials. Partners also informed about the financial scheme of NANoREG, as the European Commission provides 17% of funding and the remainder needs to be secured through national sources. Meeting took place at Norwegian Research Council in Oslo, on November 15, 2013.

The Norwegian National kick off meeting of NANoREG and the NanoSafety workshop took place in Bergen on October 17, 2013, (for details see national events)
